Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, and 1+ years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is needed to support K-12 students in a public school setting located in Altoona, PA. This full-time contract position spans the current school year, with an immediate start and continuing through May 29, 2026. The primary caseload will consist of mostly elementary students across one or two of the districts four buildings.
Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy assistance to students with diverse needs under the supervision and oversight of the districts Occupational Therapy Registered (OCR).
- Collaborate with school staff and families to develop and implement individualized intervention plans.
- Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and compliance with school district policies.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Certification as a COTA.
- Experience working with pediatric populations in a school environment preferred.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with therapists, educators, and families.
- Ability to manage caseload effectively within the school setting.
